Petrichor is a film about Nev, a 30 year-old woman who, in one furious week, goes from a smart, tenacious and selfish convict vowing never to return to prison, to a desperate mother willing to do anything to earn her son's love.

The project is the second collaboration between Nicole Vinnola (writer / producer) and Torres-Vives (writer / director) and is developed directly from their experience working through and within the correctional system.

Petrichor   (/ˈpɛtrɨkɔər/)   is the earthy scent produced when rain falls on dry soil. The word is constructed from Greek, petra, meaning ‘stone’, + ichor, the fluid that flows in the veins of the gods in Greek mythology.
